Merry Christmas

This is a little late, but I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We had a nice Christmas this year....very relaxed.

Snow in Houston!

We almost never get snow in Houston, so we were quite surprised when this started falling last week. The kids had a blast!

My Birthday

I turned yet another year older last week. We had a really fun night out with a group of girlfriends from high school. I had flown out to Memphis for Sally's birthday in September, so she flew here last weekend and spent the weekend with me.

Halloween

Sally's Birthday

I flew out to Memphis to help Sally celebrate her 40th birthday. Sally is one of my very best friends from high school. We had a great weekend!!!

Hurricane Debris

Here is our hurricane debris. The first picture is after we cleaned up a little. The others were taken right when we got to our house the first day we got back to town. You can see the fence that fell over.

We have power!!!

We finally, 10 days after Hurricane Ike, have power at our house. Now if I can just figure out how to get the smell like someone died in here while we were away OUT, life will be good again.

Still Evacuated

It is day 8 after Hurricane Ike and we still do not have power at our house, so we are still in a hotel in Ft. Worth. They say it should be back up by Monday (day after next) at the latest. We are so ready to go home!!!!!

The good news is that our property sustained somewhat minimal damage. We were very concerned that one of our trees would fall on our house, and that did not happen. We did lose part of our fence, but we can fix that without having to file a claim on our homeowners insurance, so we are grateful for that. The eye of the storm went directly over our house, so we are thankful we did not have much more damage than we did.

Evacuating

We are evacuating to Dallas this morning for Hurricane Ike. We are planning on staying there until we have power again. Please pray that is only a few days, and that we don't have any damage to our house. We have a rather small lot, but have 9 trees on it. We are on the bad side of the storm. This isn't the strongest hurricane ever, but it is really, really huge. They were predicting for it to go pretty far south of us, but the prediction crept closer and closer to us over the last couple of days, and now we are going to take a direct hit. Please keep your fingers crossed!

Daniel's Baptism

Daniel was baptized last night in the fountain at our church. This was during the Saturday evening service, and they broadcast it into the service via the video screen.

June

June had some big happenings. Daniel turned 7, and my mom retired.

Mother's Day Tea

I know this is a bit dated, but I am trying to catch up. This is from Abby's Mother's Day tea at preschool. It just happened to be her day to hold the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance.

End of Year Programs

Here are some pictures from Abby's end of year choir program at church and Joshua's end of year program at school. Joshua appeared to get tired toward the end of his number (which was the first song of the whole thing).

Mini Olympics

Abby had her mini Olympics for the end of year at gymnastics. Here is my future Olympian! LOL

Abby's Donation

Abby had her hair cut today and we are donating it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, who makes wigs for women who have cancer, and have lost their hair.
