It's Coming!

It is almost recital time, and Abby got her costume at ballet class tonight. This is her with most of her class. I took this with my phone. She is 3rd from the right. They also got a doll with a matching ballet costume. Of course, the costume could have cost $10 less if it hadn't come with a doll. LOL As much as it cost, I am envisioning a little ballerina for Halloween. LOL Stay tuned.....I'm sure you will see much more of this in the next month or so.

Life with a dog

This is life in our house with a dog. Daniel decided to see what it was like in the crate yesterday. He even closed the door and latched it himself. Abby is scared of the dog, so she is spending her life on the back of the couch these days. LOL She did venture down last night before bed, so we are making progress.

Diet

As most people know, I went on Weight Watchers about a year and a half ago. I did awesome the first few months and lost about 35 lbs. That was in addition to the 15 lbs. I had lost prior to joining WW. Then, my weight loss slowed down, but I still lost about 15 more lbs., bringing my total loss to 65 lbs. Then, I'm not sure what happened. I either got lazy, bored, or just complacent, but I quit going to my meetings and I gained 18 lbs. back. So, now I am going to try to keep myself accountable by reporting my progress here. My official weigh-in day is Saturday, so I am going to post my weekly weight loss and my total weight loss each week. Wish me luck!

Birthday Girl

My baby girl is turning 4 years old today. I cannot believe it has gone so quickly. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital, but then I look at her now and she is no longer a baby. When did that happen????

Day Out with Thomas

We spent the weekend in Ft. Worth. Our primary reason for going was to go to Day Out with Thomas. We got to take a ride on Thomas's coaches, with Thomas pulling us. We also got to meet Bob the Builder and Sir Topham Hat. We ended our morning with lunch at The Rainforest Cafe. They seated us right next to the gorillas, and Abby did not like them, and told the waiter how much she disliked them. Sat. night, we had a picnic with some old friends, and then after church on Sunday, we had lunch with our friends Marcie and Allen. Marcie and I moved to Ft. Worth at the same time and have been friends for over 13 years now. Our kids are around the same age and loved playing together.

Palm Sunday

We were in Ft. Worth this weekend, and we attended our old church this morning. It was so nice to be back there. The worship leader is amazing. We miss him most of all. The pastor had us each write on a piece of paper something in our life we want to give over to God. At the end of the service, we all went forward to the front of the church (a very large church, so lots of people), placed the card in a basket, then nailed a nail into a cross that was lying on the stairs leading up to the altar. This was a very emotional thing for me......very hard to stand in a line waiting for my turn to symobolically nail Jesus to the cross, and while I was waiting, I could hear the nails from others being hammered in. I really just wanted to turn around and run out. After that, we took communion, and then the pastor took the basket out the back doors to a trash can and dumped the papers in and burned them. It was a very moving experience for me.
