Hip Update

Joshua had a surgical procedure on his hip today. This is the same procedure he had done last summer, but the cyst had gotten smaller, and then grown bigger again. We will go back in 4 weeks for x-rays, and if the oncologist has not seen any pogress at that time, he will want to do this procedure again at that time. He will do it 3 times, before considering surgically removing the cyst. He did say that the hip bone is very thin and extremely fragile right now, so we have to be very careful with him, and with what he does, because it could easily break again at this point.

Wow! I didn't realize that he was still dealing with that; I thought it had been corrected. Hope he's feeling better soon.

No, the doctor told us recently that this is something that would not heal on it's own for 10-15 years, during which time he risks breaking his hip again, which could leave him with a permanent limp. So we are trying to speed the process along.
