Joshua's Poem
Joshua wrote this poem at school. Pretty good for a 2nd grader!
Christmas
by Joshua Morgan
Christmas is seen
In snow falling on the ground
In Christmas trees
In brightly wrapped presents.
Christmas is heard
In Christmas trees being chopped down
In Santa saying "Ho, Ho, Ho"
In bells ringing.
Christmas is felt
In a pokey wreath
In hot cocoa in my mouth
In a hug from mom.
Christmas is in yourself
In feeling excited
In feeling happy
In being good.

Thanksgiving
I know Thanksgiving was a while ago, but we just found our USB cable from the move, so I will be posting several things on the blog in the next few days. We went to my grandmother's house in Dallas for Thanksgiving. Here are Abby and Grandmother perusing the day after Thanksgiving ads......one of our favorite Thanksgiving evening activities.
Abby snuggling with my cousin Brad. Not sure where the boys were. They didn't make it into any of the pictures from that trip. Either they were busy somewhere else, or Abby is just a camera hog.Last, but certainly not least........for our birthdays, John and I got his and hers Tony Romo jerseys. Hey, we have to revel in our glory while we have the chance.

November Hip Update
We went for our monthly oncologist visit this morning. Joshua's hip is making great improvement. Bone is growing where the cyst has been, so that is very good. He reminds me every time that it can always reverse and go the other way again, but so far, so good. We go back in a month.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I know I am a day late, but I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. It was a great week here! We closed on our house, and should be all moved in by about noon tomorrow. The Cowboys are now 10-1, which they have never been before in the whole history of the team, and the Aggies beat the Longhorns! Life is good!

Daniel and Abby
Today was the Thansgiving feast at the boys school, and I took this picture of Daniel and Abby on the playground. The great thing is, they don't just look like this in pictures. LOL They really do have such a sweet relationship, and have for at least a couple of years now. I hope they will always be this close.

Tony Romo
My Tony Romo signed a contract with the Cowboys today. That is a big woohoo!!! from me. Not only is he going to be a great quarterback (as he already has been this season and the end of last season), but I also have a "little" crush on him. LOL John is fine with it, though. He bought me this pink Romo jersey.
Hip Update
I took Joshua to his oncologist today. It isn't any better than last time, but isn't any worse either, so it was an overall good appointment.

Inspection
We had the house inspected today, and it went MUCH better than the inspection of the other house. Yay!!!

House Update
OK, we ended up working everything out with the seller of that house. She agreed to sell it to us with the terms we had originally agreed on. But then, we had the inspection done this past weekend. Almost everything he inspected needed to be repaired in some way, and there were quite a few major things that needed immediate attention, including recommending that we have a structural engineer come out to look at the foundation for possible foundation problems.
So, we went out looking again yesterday, and found a house we absolutely fell in LOVE with. It is in one of my very favorite parts of Kingwood. We made an offer, and the realtor called a few minutes ago to tell us they accepted our offer! They didn't even counter, which is a good thing, because we offered the max we were willing to pay. I hope I am not jinxing myself. LOL But here are some pictures.

Nevermind
We did not get that house afterall. Or, to be more correct, we have chosen to walk away. Long story, but the seller didn't seem to think I deserved my commission as being the buyer's agent, since I am the buyer. This is after we had agreed to everything in her counter offer, and her realtor is her sister-in-law, so she isn't paying her a commission. She is wanting to sell this house through a realtor without paying any commissions at all. So it is a matter of principle for us at this point. We have a couple of other houses we have our eye on, but I will not be updating until it is signed, sealed, and delivered! LOL
We got it!

Another Hip Update
Joshua went back to see his oncologist for his follow-up for the surgical procedure he had done last month. His hip is almost healed!!! He still wants us to come back every month until it is completely healed, but he has released him from all his restrictions.

ADHD
Daniel has been diagnosed with ADHD. We have an appointment with his pediatrician in a couple of weeks to discuss medication options. We are sad about this, but at least now we know a way we can try to help him have a little easier time with life.

Hip Update
Joshua had a surgical procedure on his hip today. This is the same procedure he had done last summer, but the cyst had gotten smaller, and then grown bigger again. We will go back in 4 weeks for x-rays, and if the oncologist has not seen any pogress at that time, he will want to do this procedure again at that time. He will do it 3 times, before considering surgically removing the cyst. He did say that the hip bone is very thin and extremely fragile right now, so we have to be very careful with him, and with what he does, because it could easily break again at this point.

Go Owls!
We took the boys to the Rice University football game tonight. There really were some people at the game. We just got there early. As you can see Daniel got tired while we were waiting for the game to start. LOL About 45 minutes into the game, they delayed it due to lightening, so we left at that time. Daniel kept asking when the Gig 'Em Aggies were going to be up. LOL

Space Center Houston
The kids had a great time at Space Center Houston. We actually ended up buying a membership there as well. We can never complain about a lack of things to do in Houston anymore......not for the next year anyway! LOL This is a place I am actually really looking forward to going back to. I would like to take the kids individually, especially Joshua. I also want John and I to go without kids sometime, because there are things I know we would find interesting that they would find boring. So if anyone is in Houston and has that in their plans, let us know and we will meet you there!
